Genre Characteristic:
The lead singer is on the spotlight to show that he is the leader/ head of the band. To further reinforce this, the singer is shown through a variation of long close ups and medium close ups, also to emphasize that he is singing. Throught the shots he is making direct address to the camera in order to address the audience and make them feel; vulnerable, intimidated and make them think, as he is proposing a question to them "How are you still holding on?" This is repeated throughout in the music video, or as Andrew Goodwin would state, it is being Amplified to manipulate the audience in making them think about the question.
Rewind- creates the idea that the song is going back to the beginning/ start (to when the prom began before the whole school was trashed down.
There are a lot of long take shots to mirror the tempo of the song. This helps exempliate the seriousness of the song and really get the audience to think about the the question that he is proposing to them.

- The performers are all dressed similar, however in different colors to create this unique persona for themselves. Most bands addressed to the indie genre will follow this characteristic, they create this persona by which people will be able to identify them and also relate to them as they wear clothes that we would associate to our everyday outfits.
- The video has been made in a location that is familiar/ relatable to the audience, in this case it's been filmed in a school to make it relatable to the young audience that they are targeting. (This is conventional to most indie rock genre videos as they are trying to make the audience feel related not only to their music but also to the band themselves.
Performance Style:

(This is typical for most bands whether it's indie rock genre/ alternative rock or just rock, the band is always found performing the song within the video when it is a narrative video)

- Low key lighting, further developing the seriousness of the song.
